Privacy policy
Last updated 25 October 2026
FlagQuiz.co ("we", "us") is a general-audience website. This policy explains what information is collected when you use the site, why, and the choices you have.
The short version
- You don't need an account, and we don't ask for your name or email to play.
- Your scores, streaks and missed flags are stored in your own browser (local storage), not on our servers.
- We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and Google AdSense to show ads.
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent before using cookies for ads or analytics.
Information stored on your device
Quiz progress (which flags you've answered correctly or incorrectly, your personal bests and your Daily Flag streak) is saved in your browser's local storage so you can pick up where you left off. It never leaves your device. You can delete it at any time from the progress page or by clearing your browser data.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure things like how many people play each quiz and how many finish. This uses cookies and collects information such as pages visited, approximate location (country or city), device and browser type, and quiz events (for example, a quiz started or finished). We don't send names, emails or other directly identifying information to Google Analytics. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
Advertising
FlagQuiz.co is free because it shows ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Consent and your choices
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland see a cookie banner on their first visit. No analytics or advertising cookies are set unless you accept them. Until you choose, or if you say no, the Google tag sends cookieless pings with no identifier, which Google uses only in aggregate to estimate visit numbers.
Wherever you are, you can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage. Where US state privacy laws apply, you can use the same link to turn off advertising cookies, which opts you out of personalised ads.
Children
FlagQuiz.co is designed for a general audience, including students and adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, there are no accounts, chat or user profiles, and nothing a player types is published. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Data retention
We don't keep personal data on our own servers. Progress stays on your device until you delete it. Analytics data is deleted after 14 months. Advertising data is held by Google under its own policies. Server logs kept by our hosting provider for security are deleted automatically after a short period.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Because we don't hold accounts, most requests are handled by clearing your browser data and changing your consent choices. For anything else, email hello@flagquiz.co.
Changes
We'll update this page if our practices change. If we add accounts in the future, we'll explain exactly what we collect before anyone signs up.
