About the North America flag quiz
North America isn't just the United States, Canada and Mexico. This quiz also covers Central America and the Caribbean, which is where most of the challenge lies.
Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala share the blue and white of the old Federal Republic of Central America. Caribbean flags tend to be bold, with diagonals, triangles and stars, and several island nations are easy to confuse until you know their details.
Quick tips
- Honduras has five blue stars; Nicaragua and El Salvador have different coats of arms.
- Cuba and Puerto Rico are mirror images: swap the stripe and triangle colours.
- Saint Kitts and Nevis and Saint Lucia are often mixed up with other Caribbean flags.

- Pick how many questions you want: a quick round of 10, or all 23 flags. Turn on the timer if you want to race the clock.
- Answer each flag. Get it wrong and we'll show you the right answer and its capital, so you learn as you play.
- At the end, review the flags you missed and practise them until they stick.
Want a different challenge? Switch the mode to Find the flag: we show you a country's name and you pick its flag from four options.
